If you love to be greeted by friendly horses and nosy goats then this is the place for you! Welcome to our little farm! We love when our guests feel at home in our little farmhouse. Sit on the front porch with a cup of coffee or a glass of sweet tea while watching the sheep and horses graze. Sit on the back porch at night during the summertime and watch the beautiful fireflies! This is a place to relax and unwind from the the hustle and bustle while enjoying a little taste of farm life.
Please note, due to Covid-19, we are taking the highest possible precautions when it comes to cleaning and disinfecting our home between guest stays. The safety and health of our guests is of the utmost importance to us.
We are approximately 35 minutes from Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, 40 minutes from downtown Little Rock, and 20 minutes off I-40 and Highway 67/167.
We currently have 3 horses, 5 sheep, 3 goats, 3 miniature horses, and 3 barn cats. We also have 4 dogs. Most of our animals are rescues and have the sweetest personalities. They each have a special place on our farm and we dedicate much of our time to them.
You will have the entire house to yourself (it is approximately 1650 square feet), we stay in an RV about 80 feet from the main house. We want you to feel comfortable during your stay, we will give you as much privacy as possible. We do have to feed and care for the animals throughout the day so you’ll see us going back and forth to the barn. Their water hose is connected to the main home and sometimes we have to access the back area for one reason or another, but we try to keep it as minimal as possible and only as needed.
You’re welcome to join us outside while we feed, we love introducing our animals and telling our guests their stories. Feeding time is an exciting time for the animals, so we just ask that you take extra precaution if you’re out there while we are feeding them.
In true Southern fashion, we always leave a pitcher of homemade sweet tea in the fridge for your stay. It is our goal to provide a warm and inviting home for our guests with as many amenities as possible. We provide bath towels, toiletries, cookware, a toaster, a microwave, a coffee maker (including coffee/creamer), and bedding! If you have any special requests, please let us know and we are more than happy to accommodate if possible.
We have a large front porch with a few benches, outdoor string lights, wind chimes, and a pretty view of the property and the pond in the front of our home.
We live on 5 acres in a more rural setting with a large, mature magnolia tree in the front yard, an older traditional barn, and plenty of nature surrounding us! We have pecan trees and lots of fireflies during the summer. *Fireflies are mainly out during the end of May, all of June, and early July.* We have a back patio with chairs, a table, string lights, and a BBQ that we would love for you to use! We provide charcoal, lighter fluid, and a lighter. It also has a gas side that can be used if you prefer. Although our farmhouse is older and has been loved throughout the years, we pride ourselves in keeping it clean and tidy.
We have 2 bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a king bed. The King bed is memory foam. We have a full bathroom with a shower and tub combo, as well as a second bathroom with a jetted tub (no shower).
We have some great restaurants and coffee shops close by! All the places I recommend locally are about 10-18 minutes from our home.
Morina’s Italian Restaurant
Coco’s Cafe
Suttle’s Road Hog BBQ
Mean Pig BBQ
Purple Onion
Brew YaYa
Please note a few important details:
*Our animals do freely roam on our property, so if you are nervous around horses, sheep, goats, or dogs then please take this into consideration before booking. They are able to roam around the home and approach you, and the miniature horses and goats have access to the back and side yards as well. We do require you to sign a waiver upon check in!
*All of our animals are friendly. The only thing we ask is that the animals are never chased, mishandled, or treated improperly. This can stress them out. If you respect them, they will respect you! Our sheep love treats but since they are a prey animal, you have to be patient with them. We will provide treats for all of the animals so that you can feed them and interact with them if you’d like.
*This should go without saying, but there are livestock droppings around. Farm life, right? :)
*We do not have a covered parking area or garage, it is all open.
*We do have 4 rescue dogs that are part of the family as well. They stay in the RV with us. They are all very friendly and love people! You may or may not see them during your stay.
*As stated above, we take pride in keeping our home as clean as a possible, but please be advised that it is an older home so there are obvious flaws and imperfections here and there! Even the most beautiful things have imperfections. They add character and charm to the our farmhouse! We love our home and we hope that you will as well.
*We do like to try and say “hi” to our guests upon arrival, but we respect that you are on vacation and privacy is important. We will provide you with our contact information in case you should ever need to call or text us for any reason!
*If you would like to join us while we feed the animals to learn more about them, please let us know and we will arrange feeding times around your schedule. We feed in the mornings and evenings!
We want you to enjoy every aspect of your stay! We are laid back and enjoy opening our home for others to experience a little sample of farm life!
*We have WiFi but no TV. We only have one WiFi provider available to us at the moment and it works great for the most part but can run a bit slower from time to time.
*Our home is not baby-proofed, just so you are aware of this before booking.
*We do allow pets, but please let us know before arrival if you’ll be bringing a pet so we are aware since we have dogs as well. We ask that the animals are fully potty trained, and that they don’t get on furniture, beds, or area rugs.
